Ellenoré comes from the small town, Grabouw. She started singing professionally at the age of 15 under the guidance of Mrs. Davida Swanepoel, until the age of 17. Thereafter, she started lessons with Mr. André Strijdom to prepare for her operatic studies and received a Cum Laude, Gold plus and 2 gold certificates at the Paarl Valley Eisteddfod. At the end of her matric year she did a solo concert with Mr. Ian Visser to raise funds for the SPCA. She started studying opera at UCT in 2012 and has been a chorus member in Offenbach’s Les contes d’Hoffman, Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Rossini’s Il Viaggio a Reims, Poulenc’s Dialogue of the Carmelites and Four:30 Operas made in South Africa. During her undergraduate studies she also recorded two CD’s with San Francisco Studio, performed for several Honey jewellery launches and was a soloist in André Strijdom’s Suiderkruis Mis at the 2012 Stellenbosch Woordfees. In 2015 she played the role of Barbarina in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro and completed her Performer’s Diploma in Opera with a Dean’s Merit award. She is currently doing her first year of PGDip in Music Performance under Prof. Virginia Davids. When her studies allow it, she does music workshops with the children from the farming community in Grabouw.
